David Eggers is the founder and CEO of Simple Solutions LLC. Being a native of Lexington Kentucky and being in recovery himself, Dave noticed the lack of structure, love and discipline within the sober living communities. This resulted in him setting out to create recovery housing programs that he could feel good about sending people to. Dave’s vision for intensive outpatient therapy and recovery housing includes an open-minded, integrated and individualized approach addressing the root causes of the clients’ substance use disorder. These services emphasize mind, body and spiritual wellness. utilizing both a peer driven community approach as well as top of the line clinical modalities. Outside of work, Dave enjoys spending time with his fiancé, watching the Green Bay Packers with his son, staying engaged in his own recovery, working out and, of course, watching and cheering on UK basketball. Simple Solutions is an absolute labor of love for Dave and he hopes he will be able to serve his community in this way for years to come.
Ryan Smith, a Utah native, now spends her time divided between Lexington, KY and Dallas, TX. She co-owns Simple Solutions with her partner David Eggers, fills an executive role as president and also provides clinical services as an Advance Practice Nurse. She is very passionate about helping those struggling with substance use disorder and prides herself on the immediate, heartfelt connections she can make with anyone. When not busy running the business and working to provide excellent care to the community, she enjoys spending time with her two elementary aged girls, yoga, meditation, cycling, traveling and just being out in nature in general.

After struggling with substance use disorder for 30 years and always searching for something to fill this void in my heart. And finding myself in the same place completely broken. I finally surrendered to a new way to live. Being honest, open minded, and the willingness to take some suggestions. I started noticing my thoughts and my behaviors changing in a positive way. Today with over 6 years of recovery and practicing spiritual principles in all areas of my life. I have found what I’ve always been looking for and that’s peace and serenity. I’m very grateful to be alive!
