Recovery Housing: Your Path to Lasting Sobriety and a Fulfilling Life

Our Team

David Eggers

Founder / CEO

David Eggers is the founder and CEO of Simple Solutions LLC. Being a native of Lexington Kentucky and being in recovery himself, Dave noticed the lack of structure, love and discipline within the sober living communities. This resulted in him setting out to create recovery housing programs that he could feel good about sending people to. Dave’s vision for intensive outpatient therapy and recovery housing includes an open-minded, integrated and individualized approach addressing the root causes of the clients’ substance use disorder. These services emphasize mind, body and spiritual wellness. utilizing both a client-centered community approach as well as top of the line clinical modalities. Outside of work, Dave enjoys spending time with his fiancé, watching the Green Bay Packers with his son, staying engaged in his own recovery, working out and, of course, watching and cheering on UK basketball. Simple Solutions is an absolute labor of love for Dave and he hopes he will be able to serve his community in this way for years to come.

Ryan Smith

When not busy running the business and working to provide excellent care to the community, she enjoys spending time with her two elementary aged girls, yoga, meditation, cycling, traveling and just being out in nature in general.

Jeremy Spradlin

Hello! I’m Jeremy Spradlin, Cheif Operations Officer at Simple Solutions. I’m passionate about creating an environment where our front-line staff can thrive, and I love working alongside them to make a positive impact every day. Family is incredibly important to me—I’m a proud father of three wonderful kids and am grateful to share my life with my amazing wife. Together, we embrace the joys and challenges of family life. Having been in recovery for 9 years and working in the recovery field for 7 years, I find fulfillment in helping others navigate their own journeys. I believe in the power of compassion, understanding, and support, and I strive to be a guiding light for those in need. One of the greatest ironies in life is this: He or she who serves almost always benefits more the he or she who is served. As I often say, “The greatest gift you can give someone is your time and attention.” Let’s work together to make a difference! Feel free to reach out, I’d love to
connect!

Kelly Holland, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, Medical Director

Advanced Practice Registered Nurse

My name is Kelly Holland and I reside in Central Kentucky where I work as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner providing assessment, medication management and brief, person-centered psychotherapy services for clients and community members through the behavioral health clinic at Simple Solutions Behavioral Health. I have been a registered nurse for the past 13 years and have been an advanced practice nurse for the most recent three of those 13 years. My nursing career initially involved working in the medical/surgical and critical care departments within the University of Kentucky health care system. When the University of Kentucky assumed management of Eastern State Hospital, I decided to transfer there to gain experience working in psychiatric and behavioral health medicine because I wanted to become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

I earned my MSN from Northern Kentucky University in 2022. An interesting side note is that nursing is my second career as I worked in state and federal law enforcement for over 20 years before retiring and going back to school in my forties to become a nurse. I am a member of the American Nurses Association, American Psychiatric Nurses Association and Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society and hold certifications as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (across the lifespan) and a Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse.

I have enjoyed nursing and practicing in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric and mental health clinical settings. My inpatient exposure has provided me invaluable experience of assessing and treating clients in varying degrees of emotional and mental states. I have grown to appreciate assessing and identifying the impacts trauma has on clients and how it affects their thought processes and behaviors. Post-traumatic stress disorder and substance use disorders have been a particular focus that I have been drawn towards as I have spent the past two years working in addiction recovery medicine through intensive outpatient services.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife, four children, three cats (King Sweetness, Itty Bitty Kitty and Sir Fluffer) and our German shepherd, Tildy. I am an outdoorsman (it’s where I’d rather be) and an all-around “do it yourselfer.” I believe this is a by-product of having grown-up on a farm in rural central Kentucky. My wife is my best friend whom I find myself always excited to be doing life with. We both enjoy sitting on the beach all day and reading “real”, paperback or hard cover books. Oh, by the way, she is a librarian who holds master’s degrees in social work and library and information sciences, so I know who the smart one in this relationship.

My goal is to always treat all my patients with respect and compassion and attempt to maximize positive outcomes through the latest evidence-based practice research and collaboration.

I look forward to working with you!

Cole DeRousse

Medical Assistant/APSS/CSA

My name is Cole DeRousse, I’m a medical assistant/APSS/CSA with Simple Solutions Behavioral Health. I struggled with addiction for 15 years with no want or need for any change. Ultimately, I was in jail for 14 months and when I was released in August of 2023 on bond, I was given the opportunity to go through a program. I was lost but after finding a good sponsor and working through the 12 steps thoroughly, I was able to turn my life over to God and let him guide my path. I am proud to stand up and say, “My name is Cole and I’m an addict,” because I know where I came from. It has been a long road to get to where I am today, but my past made me the person I am and I wouldn’t change it. “Addiction is giving up everything for one thing, but recovery is giving up one thing for everything!”

I reside in central Kentucky. I have an amazing woman and three children whom I enjoy spending time with. Interestingly, “I’m a military brat” who was born in Hawaii and I am proud to be able to tell you, that one of the things that I have retained from my time in Hawaii was how to say the Hawaii state fish name in the native language. I can’t spell it but I will be happy to say it for you any time you would like to hear it. In Hawaii, I am known as a ‘kama‘āina’ which means “child of the land.” In my role as the medical assistant in the Behavioral Health Clinic at Simple Solutions, I assist the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with assessments, recordation, medication management, laboratory testing, and other clinic management responsibilities.
